Two sets of GCS twins, James & Stephen Kavanagh, and Eoin & Anna Hughes were pleasantly surprised today to discover they had achieved the exact same CAO points as their twin!

✨️ GCS DEBS 2026 ✨

On Monday evening we celebrated our Debs for the Class of 2026.

Thank you to Official Naomh Éanna GAA and Darren Cullen for the use of The Complex. It was wonderful to see so many families come together to celebrate the students.

Thank you also to Magical Creations by Agnes for the amazing backdrop for our pictures 📸

And thank you to the 6th Year Team - Ms McCormack, Ms Fairweather, Ms Siggins and Mr Bermingham - for organising the night for the students 💐

It was great contest between 2 high level operators but you stood out and nobody in the world would of denied you today.. Thanks to Jim Kinsella, Sherry Fitzgerald O'Leary Kinsella, for Sponsoring the Economics student of the year award for Gorey Community School.

Congratulations to Leah Morris Rossiter on winning the 2026 GCS Economics award.

The Sponsorship includes a Bursary cheque of €500 towards future study/education fees and a unique handcrafted trophy consisting of Auctioneers gavel and wooden block set.

On May 20th, 27 students and 5 teachers from Seisa Highschool in Japan visit GCS on a language and intercultural exchange.

This is the second year of the exchange, and a group of GCS students will visit Seisa Highschool in February 2027.

The day started with an Opening Ceremony attended by Ambassador Miyagawa from the Japanese Embassy. It was an amazing day in which GCS students showcased Irish music and céilí dance, GAA and Irish food.

The Japanese students performed a traditional Japanese dance, and gave presents to all of their new GCS friends.
GCS looks forward to welcoming Seisa Highschool again next year.

What an achievement for past pupil Aoife Wafer! CONGRATULATIONS ✨️

🏉 Aoife Wafer has been named 2026 Women's Six Nations Player of the Tournament.

🥇 The Wexford-native beat out England's Megan Jones, Italy's Francesca Sgorbini and Pauline Bourdon to the title.

🏆 This marks the second year in a row Wafer has won the coveted award, as she played a hugely influential role in Ireland's Six Nations campaign.
