Tomorrow Saturday 5th September Castletown Liam Mellows Coolgreany GAA Club and the Kennedy family will host The John Kennedy Memorial Tournament in Castletown pitch with the U9 Boys and U10 Boys taking centre stage with throw-in at 12 noon. Our U11 Girls will play on 27th September.

We would be delighted if all our local boys and girls and wider community came along to support their schoolmates and clubmates in what will be a great morning of matches.

It will be great to see another group of young hurlers lining out to honour John in this annual tournament. Our school is very proud that John was a past pupil of our school who shared so many of his talents selflessly, all for the betterment of our school community. The support from the local community is always fantastic so get to Castletown tomorrow at noon 🇱🇻🇱🇻 ☀️

We are delighted that you are with us and can’t wait to see your talents and personalities grow and flourish in our school. Thank you to Sports Active Wexford for the use of their Active Yard Stencils this summer. A sincere word of thanks to Mr Hehir who gave up his time and artistic talents to organise and paint the yards. We asked Cathal to try them out and he most definitely approves 👍🏼 Our new yard markings are a great resource helping us all keep active during breaktimes & brightening up our yards as we head into the autumn 🍂☀️ 🩵💛

💡Just a gentle reminder: Tomorrow is the deadline to complete the online Parents Notify form💡

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘆: 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀

The NCSE Parents Notify process is now in place for parents and guardians seeking a new special class or special school placement for their child for September 2027.

Parents and guardians are asked to complete the online Parents Notify form by 1 September 2026.

Supporting documents, including relevant professional report(s), should be submitted by 15 September 2026, or as soon as possible after that date if they are not yet available.

𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀:

🔹 Do not delay completing the form if you are waiting for reports or documents.

🔹 To complete the form, you will need your child’s PPS Number, date of birth, home address, Eircode, relevant professional report(s), and Student Support Plan, if available.

🔹 Your local SENO will review the information and documents provided.

🔹 The SENO may contact you if more information is needed, support you if you had difficulty uploading documents, discuss eligibility criteria, provide information on local placement options, and write to you with the outcome.

🔹 Parents Notify is not a school application. Parents must still apply directly to the school or schools they wish their child to attend.

🔹 A Letter of Eligibility confirms that your child meets the Department of Education and Youth criteria to apply for a special class or special school placement.

🔹 A Letter of Eligibility is required to support your application to schools, but schools make their own admission decisions based on their admissions policies.

🔹 Letters of Eligibility apply to the relevant school year only. If a specialist place was not taken up for 2026/2027 and a placement is being sought again for 2027/2028, a new letter will be needed.

Parents and guardians should check school admissions dates and deadlines carefully and stay in contact with their local SENO if support is needed.

We are delighted to announce that the 2013 Dublin Marathon Champion Sean Hehir will be pacing the Elite Race on the Night of the 5k PB’s 🏃

Sean will be leading the sub 17 minute pack. This is the perfect opportunity if you’re aiming to break 17 minutes or simply want to run alongside one of Irelands finest.

Sean will also be pacing sub 20 minutes in the 7.30pm race along with the 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25 minute pacers.

Very well done Fionn, Gary, Kayla & Kyle who all competed for Croghan Athletics Club in the Wexford Track Championships yesterday🟪🟨

Fionn was crowned U13 Shot Putt Champion with an excellent winning throw & super technique 🥇, Gary won a very strong bronze medal in the U13 Long Jump🥉& also competed in the sprint & relay events; whilst Kayla+Kyle had a very busy evening competing brilliantly in the sprint, long jump, javelin, relay & distance events⭐
