Galway University Hospitals aim is to educate and train doctors in a variety of medical and surgical disciplines through curricula which reflect an appropriate balance of patient care, education and research. We are recognised for training in Basic Specialist Training (BST) and Higher Specialist Training (HST) in numerous specialities. All our trainees are encouraged to partake in audits and research. We hold an annual research day in our hospital, this day acknowledges and rewards the research carried out by our NCHDs as well as giving them a platform to showcase their work. We also hold CV and Interview skill workshops to ensure that our trainees have the best possible support and advice so that they can progress in their career.
