This years ATU Mechanical Engineering 3rd Year Project required students (in groups of 4) to design and development of a microplast injection moulding machine and produce an artifact from a mould designed and produced by the group. The rig itself was designed to the industry standards and is operated using Programmable logic control (PLC).
The project showcases a wide range of skills including CAD & CAM design, Manufacturing Technique, Electrical wiring and PLC programming.
Congratulations to Nigel, Mark, Alex and Padraig on a fantastic Project
