After 12 super weeks we had our final Forest Schools with Siobhan.
And for the first time we all sat together for our greeting π₯° music, art, creativity, nature walks, we had it all, in good weather and bad.
Thank you so much Siobhan and the Heritage Council for a wonderful outdoor learning experience ππΏπͺΎπ₯¬π

The hedgehogs were showing off their understanding of the current weather conditions. It got rather windy in class today and just for fun they got all dressed up. π€£

It was a fun in the sun kind of day βοΈβ€οΈ
We couldn't POSSIBLY spend the day cooped up doing school work, so we did what we do best- have fun βοΈπ
Out came the sun cream, the pool and the water guns and we had some gorgeous water play all day! Students and staff kept themselves nice and cool with water fights, splashing and some dips in the pool! π«π« It's so fun when we can all get together and just have some good fun! β€οΈ
And you can't have a pool party without some delicious refreshing treats- so ice creams for all! π¦ Well earned treats for the best kids and staff in town (if I do say so myself)
Long may this glorious weather last βοΈβ±οΈπ¦

Mia turns 7! π
Happy birthday to our wonderful Mia, who brings us so much joy and love! We did it Mias way today, no loud silly singing, just a little bun, and a candle. And Mia blew out the candle for us too. Lucky us to get to celebrate you ππͺπ₯³

Sweet treats for the sweetest guys and girls in town! π°π¦π«
A broken ice cream van won't stop us getting our hands on delicious (and well deserved)treats! π¬ Our amazing kiddos were spoiled rotten today with treats to celebrate the super humans they are!
Our gorgeous and amazing Home Ec teacher Chloe made an INCREDIBLE rainbow cake with us. π She visited each class, and they each got to make a layer! Then combined altogether into a delicious Abalta rainbow cake! Made by our amazing kiddos π
We can't celebrate on a sunny day without ice-cream! So each class made their way to our amazing friends in Spar Parkmore for a nice refreshing treat π¦π₯°
And finally Our always amazing neighbours in Abbott Abbott delivered an unbelievable 30 Easter eggs for all of our kiddos to enjoy! π«

Jumping for joy and celebrating the amazing people we are! β€οΈπ§‘πππ©΅π
To celebrate the end of Autism Acceptance Month, we had so much fun enjoying the sunshine with an awesome bouncy castle, from the always wonderful Jumping Jacks Bouncy Castle Hire! And the smiles and joy say it all π
We never take for granted here in Abalta how lucky we are to work with the students and families that we do! π₯°
Everyday our students show us how beautiful they are with their spirit, uniqueness, charm, intelligence, humour, mischeviousness, kindness, love and all around amazing-ness!
Autistic people have to work hard everyday to try and thrive in a world that isn't always built for them- the very least we can do is show and encourage acceptance! ππ«Άπ» Which we try to do everyday in Abalta Special School
To our students, we love you! Thank you for being the best π

It was blue skies and blue attire for our whole school walk today to celebrate Autism Acceptance Month! π
Movement is a key part of our wellbeing here in school, and it was lovely for all of us to go on a walk together around the park! Enjoying the sunshine, and each others company! β₯οΈ
We here in Abalta are so proud of our students and the amazing humans they are, and would walk everyday to shout that to the world! π
More celebrations to come! And hopefully the weather keeps cooperating! βοΈ ππ»

Pixies class had their last day swimming last week, and my goodness we have come so far. π§ββοΈ
Entering and exiting the pool independently, feeling secure to stand on our own, getting our faces wet, learning to kick our legs and move our arms, it has been so successful. πββοΈπββοΈ We might need to change our names to the mermaids!π§ββοΈπ§ββοΈ
Thank you so much to Kilcornan pool, Mark and Alan for being such a safe space for us β€οΈ
