When choosing a dyslexia assessor, qualifications and professional registration matter.

We strongly encourage parents and adults to ask for verification of an assessor’s credentials, including:

• Professional registration (such as APC)
• Appropriate SpLD dyslexia assessment qualifications
• Experience working with children, adolescents, or adults
A properly qualified and registered assessor helps ensure that:
• The assessment is evidence-based
• The diagnosis is valid and recognised
• Recommendations can be acted on by schools, colleges, and workplaces
