Having completed the North East Galway 5k this month, a first for myself, I've found getting out buggy walking has been fantastic (plus the Little Owls love it).
This week the Moylough Buggy Buddies was started. Anyone interested in joining for the fresh air and chats is very welcome. No cost.
The plan is Mon-Thur, mid-morning, subject to weather etc. So tomorrow is the final morning till after Halloween. I'v started a WhatsApp group, so get me on 0879139919 to be added for the finer details x

So proud of my own two little ladies, who received their medals & certificates from the Moylough Library this evening, as part of The National Summer Reading Adventure 2018. A total of 43 children (including both past and present Little Owls) took part in the reading challenge. Alisha also was delighted to receive the prize for the Best Girl Book Review!
Blessed to have a lovely local library and fabulous librarian where we visit weekly for a chat, a read, a colour and a quick play.

Interesting article today on childminding and the issue of reform:
Little Owls is a notified service for up to three preschoolers (ie voluntary following the regulations as Tusla won't formally inspect unless I'd four/five preschoolers at any one time). Its always disappointing when I repeatedly have to say "sorry I can't offer the Affordable Childcare Scheme". I still add the word " currently " to this statement as I do have hope that the smaller environment will be recognised and also a family home inspection system will eventually be developed for Tusla. Being notified opens up a network of support, training etc and only last Tuesday my third application for the 1,000euro grant was submitted. Fingers crossed!!
Childminding: reforming a profession that doesn't register
Everyone knows change is inevitable, but how and when remain the big unknowns
