𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀. 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱.

Children learn, play and socialise online just as they do offline — and just like the playground, they still need guidance, boundaries and support from parents.

That’s why we’re running 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 to 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻 to engage confidently with their child’s online life.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿:
• Understanding the benefits and risks of the internet
• Helping children become effective, responsible and safer internet users
• Open communication about online activity
• Setting rules and boundaries around screen time and apps
• Exploring cyber-bullying and how to support your child if issues arise

🤖 𝗔𝗜 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 — 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲, 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹

AI is already part of many children’s online lives — from schoolwork and games to images, videos, and chat tools.

That’s why this year’s Safer Internet Day 2026 is encouraging families to think about how we can support children to be safe, smart, and in control when it comes to AI and the internet more broadly.

For parents, that doesn’t mean having all the answers — it means:
• asking questions
• starting conversations
• helping children think critically about what they see and use online

As a Safer Internet Centre partner, will be sharing parent-focused resources over the coming weeks to support families with these conversations at home.

📅 Safer Internet Day takes place on Tuesday 10 February
