Good luck to all the Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert students.

Making the most of the Formulae and Tables Booklet 25/05/2026

Just over a week to the Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert exams. Students will be working hard in the final run up to these. But remember it is important not to get over tired. Take regular breaks mixed in with your study sessions. Give yourself a little treat every now and again.

Time for tea and cake

My mind distracted by the rain,
I notice raindrops on the window pane.
Tired of study in my room,
I gaze out on the growing gloom.
Over the rooftops towards the skies,
I caste my gaze to rest my eyes.
If I am to work my best,
I know I need to take a rest.
I know that I should take a break.
Definitely time for tea and cake.
Ten minutes is all I need to take.
Definitely time for tea and cake.

Making the most of the Formulae and Tables Booklet 18/05/2026

Just over two weeks to go to the final written exams for Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate. Students may feel pressured to over do the study. Once you get tired and can no longer retain what you have just read or studied there is no point in going further without taking a rest. Otherwise panic may set in and sleep be disrupted. When you are tired take a break. Keep regular bed times and save your energy for when you are fully awake and can give full concentration to your work. https://payhip.com/b/P3nQ

Exam Pressure

My eyes are tired, my shoulders ache.
Past time I took a break.
The heat is on, but I feel cold.
Guess that I am getting old.
Or is from the lack of sleep,
due to the crazy hours I keep?
Pressure is on, exams are near.
My thoughts are filled with dread and fear.
My mind's a mess with all the stress.
Perhaps a quick shower will get me through one more hour.
No! I know what it is that I should do.
I should take a break and tomorrow start anew.
But if I can't calm the thoughts inside my head,
there's no point in going to bed.
I think I'll go for a walk.
Maybe call my friend to talk.
Oh no! Its way too late.
The situation is far from great.
I wish that I had done things right.
Done my homework every night.
Is there anyone that I can call?
Is there any help at all?
But for now, all that I can do,
is take a break and tomorrow start anew.

Making the most of the Formulae and Tables Booklet 13/05/2026

Just 3 weeks to go to the written Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert exams. Plan out what you intend to accomplish with your study session. Don't give up too easily when you encounter a problem but if it is taking too long to solve ask for help.

The Student
I think to day I'll tackle Maths.
Spend some time on algebra and stats.
If I find it stumps my mind,
I'll ask my tutor for a grind.
I think tomorrow I will tackle Physics.
Get my head around Newtonian Mechanics.
If I find it hard to understand,
It might take longer than I planned.
But I'm not one for giving up,
Even when the going gets a little tough.
And while it might take some time,
In the end it will be just fine.
