Congratulations to our 8 wonderful 6th class students who celebrated their graduation last Thursday.🎉It has been a pleasure to watch you all grow and develop to who you are today, making life long memories and friends along the way. What a marvellous day 3rd and 4th Class had at the Living Bog, Galway! The children learned about the fascinating flora🌳 and fauna🐦 of the bog, explored the boglands, and took part in exciting soil experiments using sphagnum moss and magnifying glasses. 🔍It was a fun, engaging, and educational experience for everyone. A sincere thank you to Marie and her team for such a wonderful day!☺️

We were delighted to welcome Seán Ó'Maoilchiaráin from Galway Bay FM to the school this morning to chat to the children about becoming 'Irelands fittest school'! The interviews will be broadcast on Galway Bay Fm on Saturday morning from 11am as part of their 'In the Loop' show. 📻🎤

🎉Ireland's Fittest School 2026🎉
On Wednesday we achieved the amazing feat of being crowned 'Ireland's Fittest School 2026'!!🏆 For a small rural school, the opportunity to compete with the biggest in the country is truly incredible and to come out on top highlights the wonderful talents, skills and abilities our students possess. 🏃‍♂️🤸‍♂️🤾‍♀️🏋️‍♀️
Working together as a team and cheered on by our enthusiastic supporters the children navigated the challenges excellently to achieve first place and the prize of €5000 worth of sports equipment!!
We could not be prouder of all of the children in the whole school who put in a huge effort over the past few months!☺️
The joy and excitement of being crowned All-Ireland Champions will live long in the memories! A massive thanks to all who lined the roads with flags and fires on our return to school making it a truly special occasion for the children!!💚🤍

Fitness for Kids

Well done to the Girls football team who participated in the Cumann na mbunscol on Friday. They won all of their games and now progress to the County Semi-Final!!🏐🎉

Congratulations to our wonderful 2nd class children who received the Sacrament of Holy Communion in Caltra Church on Saturday! We were so proud of you and hope you all had a lovely weekend!!🤩☀️

🎉Connacht's Fittest School 2026🎉
Congratulations to all of the children for achieving the title of 'Fyffes Ireland's Fittest School Connacht 2026'!! 🏆The children have been working hard on their fitness over the last 10 weeks resulting in a place in the Connacht Finals which took place in Castlerea yesterday. The competition was tough but the children's determination and teamwork shone through getting them over the line in first place!! It was a really enjoyable and exciting day and we can now look forward to the All-Ireland Finals in 2 weeks time! 🥳💚🤍

We got back to work in our sensory garden/outdoor classroom yesterday. We were busy pulling some weeds, examining how the seeds have germinated and planting some carrots! 🥕
Our garden received some wonderful new additions over the past few weeks. A special thanks to Brooklodge Nursing home and their Ability West workshop for suppling us with some raised planters, a buddy bench and a handcrafted sign and to our parents who created the lovely new tables and the 5⭐️ bug hotel!!🐞

Thanks to all those who contributed in any way to our bake sale and coffee morning last week. It was a great success and your support is very much appreciated. 💚
