Music Generation Galway City It is managed and supported locally by The GRETB, Galway City Council, Galway City Partnership, Foróige, Youth Work Ireland, CYPSC, Aras na nGael and Involve.

Music Generation Galway City is a performance music education programme that provides opportunities to access a range of high-quality music experiences for children and young people across Galway City. Music Generation Galway City is a performance music education service for children and young people in Galway City that provides opportunities for children and young people to access a range of high quality, subsidised vocal and instrumental tuition in their local area. Initiated by Music Network, Music Generation is co-funded by U2, The Ireland Funds, the Department of Education and Skills and Local Music Education Partnerships (LMEPs).

What a night!

A huge thank you to everyone who made the first Youth Lates at Electric Galway such a fantastic success.

To the incredible performers, Portraits, The Shades, Marianne Ribeiro, Maisie McCarthy, LeonJ, Jamie & Carla, and Smoking Area - thank you for bringing the energy and showcasing the amazing young talent Galway has to offer.

Thank you to everyone who came along, supported the artists, and helped create such a positive atmosphere throughout the night.

A special thank you to the crew and partners who made the event possible, and to Electric Galway for hosting Youth Lates while Nuns Island Theatre undergoes renovations. Your support ensures that young people continue to have exciting opportunities to connect, perform, and experience live music in the city.

A look back at FutureSounds this summer 🎶

Over four weeks in July, young musicians from across Galway came together to write, rehearse and perform their own original music with support from our Musician Educators. New groups formed each week, bringing fresh ideas and collaborations, with performances every Wednesday and a final celebration joined by young musicians from Music Generation Limerick City.

Want to make music like this? FutureSounds is now running as a Monday night AfterSchool club in Galway Community College!

🎶 Music-making for our youngest musicians starts tomorrow!

BabyRhymeTime and MusicExplorers are back in Galway City Libraries for our 10-week Autumn Term, with both sessions running back-to-back each week.

👶 BabyRhymeTime | Ages 0–2 | 11am
A fun, interactive session for babies and their parents or carers to explore music, songs and playful activities together.

🎵 MusicExplorers | Ages 2–4 | 12pm
A creative music session for young children and their parents or carers, with plenty of singing, playing and musical exploration.

📍 Tuesdays — Westside Library
📍 Wednesdays — Ballybane Library
📍 Thursdays — Galway City Library

As Nuns Island Theatre undergoes renovations, we're excited to bring the next three Youth Lates events to Electric Galway.

A massive thank you to Electric Galway for stepping up to support this initiative and helping us continue to provide exciting, safe, and inclusive night-time experiences for young people in Galway.
