We Belong where we believe we Belong.

And on Friday I got a glimpse of this.... Network Ireland National Conference 2022. Thank you to my amazing networker, colleague and friend Noreen McKenzie for giving so many women a day to remember.

So often we seek our worth and validation from external sources, and why wouldn't we? When someone tells you that you are great, then you should believe it.
The same unfortunately goes for if we are told we are not so great, repeatedly, over time, we begin to believe this also.

However for true, long-lasting depth of your value, that holds firm, that puts the fuel in your engine to keep going, and that gives you the drive to push through, to hang in there, then knowing what makes you great is important. Understanding your unique value and usefulness to this world sparks that inner resilience, joy, and true validation.
We all just want to be understood. And to be understood, we must first understand. Who am I? What makes me great? What makes me useful to this world? What makes me talented? And what makes me valuable. This can be an absolutely mind-blowing journey.

What a weekend so far...
We got to check out our boat today for the Cancer Care West Frances Thornton Memorial Galway Bay Swim . Thanks to Paul Byrne our amazing captain for providing such luxury next weekend Saturday July 16th as we swim across Galway Bay.

We also got to take part in a 1.5km prom race today in great conditions....
Oh and the best of all ...Two amazing Galway wins in one weekend... Minors and Seniors... Don't think the weekend can get any better and it's only Saturday!!! 🏆💪🎉🏐

We are taking part in the Frances Thornton Galway Bay Swim on July 16th 2022 swimming 13 kms across the bay from Co. Clare to Co. Galway in aid of Care Wes a really worthy cause.
I grew up around woods and rivers, and went swimming once a year as a child. My mother hates the water, so that didn't help!!! Severe sports injuries stopped my love of the pitch and team sports in my 20s and so in my 30s I got some relief in the pool. Moving back to Galway in 2015 was either sink or swim, quite literally. If I was going to live by the sea then I better embrace it. So lots of sea dipping, pure fear of being out of my depth, and often thinking I was going to die, turned into something a little more serious and committed 5 months ago. I never felt I belonged with all the amazing strong swimmers out there. I would quite literally apologise to everyone around me for my snail's pace. However here I am today. So trust me, if I can do it, so can you. I used to look across the bay and dream about it, thinking it might not happen for 10 years. I'm not particularly fast, but I am stubborn and committed and have strong faith, which I will need out there. So slowly and steadily I will do it with my two amazing friends.
