5 WAYS TO TRAIN LIKE AN ATHLETE

Are you looking to develop your athletic qualities for field based sports like GAA but don’t know where to start ? Here’s what you can do:

1️⃣ want to beat your opposition the first to the ball ?

-Sprint to your maximum speed-often 🏃‍♂️ 💨

2️⃣ Need to improve your jumps?

- Develop those springs 🦘

3️⃣ want to be physically dominant?

-Lift heavy weights 🏋🏻‍♂️

4️⃣ want to accelerate faster/ be more explosive ?

-Lift lighter loads with max intent and at speed 💥

5️⃣ want to improve decision making & reactions

-include reactive agility & decision making under pressure in your training 🧠

🚨 ATTENTION ATHLETES 🚨

If you are cardiovascularly fatigued during your speed sessions, well then guess what… you are NOT training speed

-Rest a lot
-Keep the intensity high

As a rule of thumb, for every 10m you sprint you should rest for 60 seconds.

Example:
50m sprint = 5 mins rest
