We’re delighted to welcome everyone back for another exciting school year β€” and a very special welcome to our new Junior Infants! 🌈
They had a fantastic first day, and it was wonderful to see so many happy faces 😊

Congratulations to our students Tara, Niamh, Jasmine and all their teammates on the Aherlow U12 girls' football team! πŸ’šπŸ’›
The girls had a fantastic day at Croke Park yesterday during the LGFA All-Ireland Senior Football Final. They proudly represented their club as 🚩 flag bearers and also played an exhibition match at half-time in front of the huge crowd.
It was a wonderful experience for all involved.
Well done girls, coaches and everyone at Aherlow LGFA. πŸ’šπŸ’›

Best of luck.
As the big day approaches, everyone at Galbally NS would like to wish our own John Kiely, Kieran Hickey, the players and the entire backroom team the very best of luck on Sunday.

John has always been a tremendous ambassador for our parish, and we are incredibly proud of all he has achieved. As we reshare this special video from 2018, it brings back wonderful memories of the joy and excitement when John brought the Liam McCarthy Cup to our school. The smiles, pride, and celebrations captured that day say it all.
Best of luck, Johnβ€”we'll all be shouting you on once again.
From all the staff, pupils, families and Board of Management at Galbally NS

EU Visit to Brussels πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί
I was delighted to travel to Brussels this week to represent Galbally NS on a special visit to the European Commission and the European Parliament. It was a fantastic experience and a real privilege to represent our school which was one of only 12 primary and 8 secondary schools from all over Ireland.
The visit was made possible thanks to the outstanding work of Ms Davern and her class who participated in the Blue Star Programme this year.
During the visit, I had the opportunity to gain a first-hand insight into how the European Union operates, meet with officials from the European Commission and participate in discussion groups with Members of the European Parliament.
Our workshops explored the role the European Union has played in preserving peace across Europe for the past 80 years and in improving the lives of millions of citizens. We also reflected on Ireland's journey since joining the European Economic Community in 1973, examining the social and economic progress that EU membership has helped to support. We discussed many of the challenges currently facing the Union, including the cost-of-living crisis, climate change and energy security.
It was particularly
encouraging to see the value placed on education throughout the programme.
We had the opportunity to share our experiences from the classroom, discuss the challenges facing schools today, and explore how European initiatives can continue to support teachers and pupils.
The visit was a timely reminder of the importance of helping young people understand not only how the European Union functions, but also the impact it has on their everyday lives. I look forward to bringing these experiences back to Galbally NS where we will continue to foster our pupils' curiosity, citizenship and understanding of Europe through the Blue Star Programme.

Thank you.
As another school year comes to a close, we want to thank all the many people who have helped in any way at Galbally NS.
Last Tuesday night a presentation was made to Catherina Commons in recognition of her outstanding dedication and commitment to our Parents' Association over the years. Mr Kearney, in his address, also offered his sincere thanks to Richard Donovan for his support and commitment to the Board of Management over the past number of years. Along with Catherina's outstanding work with the Parents' Association, both have made a lasting difference to our school community. We are incredibly grateful for everything they have done.
We also acknowledged six families whose mums were presented with a bouquet of flowers as a token of our appreciation for their unwavering support and generosity to Galbally NS throughout the years. Their kindness and commitment have been deeply valued, and we thank them sincerely.
Finally, we said goodbye to our wonderful 6th Class pupils as they graduated from Galbally NS. We are so proud of each and every one of them and wish them every success and happiness as they begin the next chapter of their journey.
We wish all our pupils, families and staff a safe, happy and relaxing summer!

Football ⚽️
We played our neighbours, Lisvernane NS, today in the Peggy Daly Tournament. Once again, there were some excellent football skills on display from both teams. 🌟
Despite the warm temperatures, every player gave it their all and showed great determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout. πŸ‘
Congratulations to Lisvernane NS, who were victorious by 2 points after a closely contested game. πŸ† Well done to all involved on a fantastic day of football.
