She was a beautiful, talented, kind, cheerful, Gaelach, and musical young woman.

✨ Launch of the Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund Gaeltacht Scholarships ✨
We are beyond delighted to announce the launch of the Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund Gaeltacht Scholarships, in partnership with Coláiste Chamuis, Co. Galway, at this year’s National Ploughing Championships.
Ashling, a dedicated múinteoir bunscoile, had a deep grá for the Irish language and worked tirelessly to inspire her pupils and those around her to cherish it. Her favourite seanfhocal was:
“Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh siad” – “Praise the youth and they will flourish.”
With this in mind, we are proud to continue Ashling’s wish of encouraging the use of Irish among young people.
📍 Every day at the Ploughing, we’ll have something special at our stand! If you are in 2nd Year, Transition Year or 5th Year, be sure to visit us (Block 4, Row 24, Stand 469) to collect an application form. Completed forms must be submitted by Friday, October 3rd, to be in with a chance of being awarded one of two Gaeltacht scholarships for Coláiste Chamuis. This is exclusive to ploughing attendees only!
A huge thank you to Attracta Brady, Uachtarán Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, for joining us today - sharing beautiful music, speaking so warmly about Ashling, and officially launching the scholarships.
This initiative will be launched nationally in November, and we’ve no doubt that Ashling would be very proud.
