Hi everyone, I thought some of you might be interested.The Rosebuds Ladies Group is hosting the Marie Keating fundation mobile unit on Tuesday 9th June in Clongeen Community Hall (Y35 XE63) from 11 am. All are welcome to attend. The specialist team will be on hand to offer evidence-based up-to-date information on the most common types of cancer. Come along and learn how to protect yourself from cancer and how to recognise the signs and symptoms of various types of cancer. This is a great opportunity for anyone with questions or concerns about cancer. You will also learn about the services available in the community. Refreshments will be served on the day. Aujourd'hui j'ai décidé de vous parler d'une technique que j'utilise avec mes étudiants - les enregistrements.
Pour mes élèves qui se préparent à des examens ou des entretiens, je prépare des enregistrements des phrases usuelles qu'ils doivent dire. Nous préparons ensemble les phrases, puis je les enregistre. L'élève peut ensuite écouter l'enregistrement à volonté et s'entraîner à la prononciation correcte.

Let’s keep talking about the weather – since it is one of the most spoken about topics in every country. This time we can use ‘il y a’ (There is/are).
Par exemple :
Il y a du vent. - It is windy.
Il y a beaucoup de soleil. – There is a lot of sun.
Il y a des grêlons. – There are some hale stones.
Il y a un peu de neige sur la route. – Ther is a little bit of snow on the road.

Let’s talk about the weather – or rather about the use of the verb ‘Faire’ when talking about the weather. In French we say ‘it does rain’ instead of ‘it is raining’. Here you go:
Il fait chaud. – It is hot.
Il fait beau. – It is sunny (nice/hot).
Il fait mauvais. – The weather is bad.
Il fait froid. – It is cold.

Here is something that will make your life easier when learning French Verbs. The past participles of the verbs in –ER (first group verbs) are always regular and end in é, ée, és or ées.
J’ai mangé tout le gâteau. – I ate the entire cake.
Il a fermé la porte derrière lui. – He closed the door behind him.
La fraise que j’ai mangée était délicieuse ! – The stawberry I ate was delicious!
Les filles sont passées me voir au bureau ce matin. – The girls came to visit me in the office this morning.
Les livres que j’ai rangés dans le plaquard lui appartiennent tous. – The book I tidied away in th cupboard are all his.
