We would like to wish 6th Year student Sophie McDonagh the very best as she lines out for the Leinster Under-18 Girls Rugby team tomorrow in the PwC Under-18 Girls Interprovincial Championship Final against Munster in Mullingar.

Sophie will wear the number 12 jersey, proudly representing Tullamore RFC as part of the Leinster team.

Welcome Back to Gallen Community School!

A very warm welcome back to all our students! We hope you had a fantastic summer and are feeling refreshed, recharged and ready for the year ahead.

There is a real sense of excitement around the school as we look forward to welcoming everyone back and beginning another great year together. We are especially excited to meet all of our First Years on Thursday and to officially welcome you into the Gallen Community School. We can’t wait to get to know you, help you settle in and see you begin this exciting new chapter.

We are looking forward to seeing familiar faces, meeting new ones and making lots of positive memories together throughout the year.

Massive congratulations to our amazing Leaving Certificate and Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA) Class on their fantastic results today! We are so incredibly proud of the hard work, grit, and determination you have all shown. Your effort has truly paid off. Today’s results demonstrate clearly the value of school attendance and dedication to study. It is no coincidence that this combination which is evident throughout the year group has resulted in so many students reaching their potential. Every student had their own individual Leaving Certificate story with many overcoming their own particular challenges to be successful. A huge 25% of our students smashed past the 450-point mark—an absolutely stellar achievement. We also want to give a massive congratulations to our LCA students, who excelled in their practical tasks and sessions, showing exactly what can be achieved with steady focus and dedication. Whether you hit a personal goal, got the points you needed, or surprised yourself, you all deserve to celebrate big today. None of these achievements however would be possible without our unbelievable staff. A massive thank you for your endless hard work, energy, and complete determination to see every single student succeed. You genuinely went above and beyond to support them every step of the way. This support stretched way beyond the school day and is truly appreciated.

Whether you are heading off to college, starting an apprenticeship, or jumping straight into the workforce, we wish you the absolute best. You have a very bright future ahead of you. Have a brilliant time celebrating tonight—stay safe and look out for each other!

Congratulations to our Leaving Certificate Class of 2026 who celebrated their Graduation in The Bridge House Hotel Tullamore on Friday night. The Graduation marks a milestone for all these wonderful young people. We have no doubt that they will go on to accomplish amazing feats and we thank them for leaving such a wonderful legacy in our school. Best wishes to you all tomorrow as you receive your results. They will be available on the CSSP from 10am and also from the school. All students are invited in to school for support and guidance throughout the day.

Golden Jubilee Celebration

The Parish Pastoral Council wishes to invite everyone to join them this Saturday at the 7pm Evening Mass in Ferbane as we celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Fr Peter Burke’s Ordination.

We give thanks for Fr Peter’s 50 years of dedicated service and ministry.

The U15 Girls All-Ireland Soccer Champions were privileged to be invited to Rashina recently, bringing along both the Leinster and All-Ireland Cups.
A huge thank you to Principal Mr. Leo Guinan, the staff, and all the students for their warm invitation and wonderful welcome on the day.
We hope that the visit, along with the outstanding achievements of Rashina's past pupils, will inspire the pupils of St. Cailin's NS to get involved in soccer and other extracurricular activities as they progress to secondary school.

Gallen Community School would like to wish all our Third Year and Sixth Year students the very best of luck as they begin their examinations tomorrow. We hope that their preparation and efforts over the past number of years will stand to them as they take on this important stage of their education.

We would also like to acknowledge the support provided by parents, guardians, and teachers in helping students prepare for their exams. Their guidance, encouragement, and commitment have been an important part of the journey to this point.
