As part of active week, the active schools committee have been extra busy! So far they have done a PE lesson with junior infants and 1st/2nd class. They have also been setting up games and activities for the students at break times! As well as all of that, our schools new playlist that was created with the help of the active schools committee can be heard playing over the speaker during break times! 🎵 😊

1st and 2nd class have been learning about the famous artist Claude Monet. They began by studying his painting “Water Lillies” before painting their own versions using water colour paint. Now, they are taking those skills and using them to create a 3D version! 🎨

We had a brilliant day last Thursday at the Ferns Diocesan Soccer Blitz hosted by St Iberius’ NS in Curracloe United. We were unlucky this year in terms of silverware but everyone had a great day at this wonderful event! One of the most looked forward to in a school calendar!

A big thank you to the all the people who helped us prepare with a special mention to Luke and to all the parents who made it possible for us to attend the event and who stayed to cheer us on!

We are very lucky to be included in a GAA skills camp originally organised by the Rapparees-Starlights GAA Club for St Aidan’s School.The club have been working with St. Mary’s this year again and provided GAA training in school in terms 1 and 2. For the month of June the children in 1st/2nd will attend on Mondays, 3rd/4th on Tuesdays and 5th/6th on Wednesdays! This week, 3rd - 6th had their first session and great fun was had and new skills were developed! Thanks to all the volunteer coaches!

5th and 6th class have completed the programme with Inland Fisheries Ireland with a visit to the River Urrin in Enniscorthy today! We really enjoyed our afternoon checking the water quality and searching for river creatures, handling the fish and the eels following a demonstration of electro fishing!
