A few moments from the Arboreal Legacy Art Project's last session, which took place at Lees Road Park, Ennis and was fully funded by Clare County Council.

During the three sessions we explored new materials and techniques, we crafted, we discussed what legacy meant for us, what kind of Ennis we would like to leave for future generations and how we can do this. We got to know each other, played games, cooked over the fire and rediscovered the beauty of being in nature.

Thanks to Clare County Council for making this project possible and thanks to everyone who participated for braving the weather and joining us during these three gorgeous sessions!

Looking forward to more projects like this one!

A few moments from our last morning and afternoon Summer camps in Ennis.

The theme was Brehon Laws. We explore some interesting philosophical dilemmas and thought experiments while having our snacks - what is fair and why?

The morning camp made a den and named it Rash, it had rules, one of them was adults weren't allowed to climb it. The afternoon camp made a different den and named it Beech Bungalow, this one quickly became a food stall!

We enjoyed playing Capture the Flag, finding baby and adult frogs hopping around and caterpillars stuck on our clothes. We even saw a caterpillar descending from the tree canopy like it was Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible πŸ›πŸ˜Ž! We had fun in the hammocks and weaved a tree net that gave us an extra space to relax in. We celebrated Ava Kate's birthday!

We enjoyed the warm sunny weather β˜€οΈ and had to get creative with our snacks as the heatwave meant we couldn't have a fire as we like to do. We hid ice cream in the woods and had the children discover and follow the tracking signs in order to find it! It was fun!

We made so many nice memories and great new friendships in the woods!

Thanks everyone! 🦊🌳❀️

A few moments from last week's morning and afternoon camps. The theme was forest pharmacy and we learned a lot about how we can use plants to help us, we even made our own plantain balm to use when anyone got scratched or bitten! Some of us made booklets with information on plants we encountered.

We did a blind taste, tried some wood sorrel, mint, hawthorn and dandelion. The morning camp got very into dens so we ended up checking how waterproof they were, it was both fun and refreshing, especially for Eoin! πŸ˜†

We got to see loooots of tiny frogs hopping around with us! Played capture the flag, hide and seek and enjoyed playing in the hammocks and cooking on the fire! We made great friends and shared lots of wonderful moments with them πŸ₯°

Thanks everyone! 🦊❀️🌳

A few moments from our most recent forest school Summer camp in Ennis!

The theme was Celtic Legends and we had great fun making spears & shields, building a tree house, chatting about Fionn mac Cumhaill, The Children of Lir and Brigid of Kildare while cooking over the fire, we even played a game where the children got to defeat Aoife! We had a go at tie-dye and made some lovely flags with natural dyes! It was so much fun!

Thanks everyone! Looking forward to more adventures in the woods 🌳🦊❀️
