Really delighted to have had the opportunity to speak in Leinster House yesterday in front of the Joint Committee on Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science as Chairperson of the National Local Training Initiative Committee.

It was a big moment personally, but more importantly a chance to represent the work happening in LTIs across the country.

WE’RE HIRING – ASSISTANT COORDINATOR (MATERNITY COVER) 🚨

Edenderry Local Training Initiative is seeking a motivated and organised Assistant Coordinator (Maternity Cover) to join our team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in education and training while making a real difference in the lives of young people in our community.

📍 Role Overview
You will support the delivery of a QQI Level 4 Employment Skills programme, working directly with learners to help them build confidence, skills, and pathways into employment or further education.

💼 Key Responsibilities
Deliver and support training modules and learner activities
Assist learners in securing and completing work placements
Prepare lesson plans and learning materials
Maintain QQI documentation, folders and results packs
Support learner recruitment, monitoring and evaluation
Ensure compliance with LOETB Training Standards System
Keep accurate records and documentation
Work collaboratively as part of a small, supportive team

✅ What We’re Looking For
Experience with QQI systems, policies and Common Awards System
Strong organisational, planning and IT skills
Experience working with young people or unemployed learners
Ability to create engaging, practical learning experiences
Excellent communication and facilitation skills
Train the Trainer qualification (essential)
Experience preparing QA documentation and lesson plans
