The start of a school year is when habits get set. How your teenager approaches study, sleep, screens and pressure in September tends to shape the rest of the year. Join child and adolescent psychotherapist Dr. Colman Noctor and Studyclix CEO Luke Saunders for an honest conversation about what actually helps teenagers, and what quietly makes things worse.

What they will cover:
Why pushing a teenager to study rarely works, and what to do instead
How to talk to a teenager who does not want to talk
Spotting the difference between normal pressure and real distress
Setting screen and study boundaries that survive past October
What parents can control, and what they cannot

Studyclix CEO Luke Saunders will be in conversation with Dr. Colman Noctor, child and adolescent psychotherapist, on Tuesday September 8th at 7pm.

On Wednesday we were delighted to welcome our new 1st Year cohort to school for Friendship Day!
It was a great opportunity for students to meet their new classmates, make new friends and get a taste of school life ahead of the new term. The day included making (and, of course, eating!) pizzas, learning to play the drums, games and a range of other fun workshops – all designed to help make the transition to post-primary school that little bit easier.
A huge thank you to our prefects, who generously gave their time yesterday to help prepare for the day, and to all the teachers and staff who helped make today such an enjoyable and welcoming experience.
We hope our new 1st Years enjoyed the day as much as we did. We’re really looking forward to welcoming you all back and seeing you begin this exciting new chapter! 🌟

Well done to Jonah and the Class of 2026

625 points is an outstanding achievement 👏

A Wicklow student who plays American football for Ireland has scored the maximum 625 points in his Leaving Cert after spending up to nine hours a day studying in the garden during the summer heatwave.

On cloud nine after his unexpected maximum score, former St Kevin’s Community College Dunlavin student Jonah Lynch (18) received the stellar news earlier than he expected, having logged on to check he had the right password.

The first his family knew of the news was the yell coming from his bedroom.

“I was just looking to log in at about 9.40am to check my password was right, and the results were already there – so that was unexpected,” Jonah said. “My family weren’t there with me because they weren’t expecting me to get them that early, but they found out that I got them when they heard the yell from my room! They were delighted, of course.”

Congratulations to all students receiving their Leaving Certificate results today.
Once again, we have an outstanding set of results. It really reflects the hard work and dedication of our students, supported by their teachers, other staff, and of course their families.
Well done to everyone.
