🌟 Our Annual Wainfest Adventure! 🚌🎭🚒🚨

What a fantastic day we had on our annual Wainfest trip! ❤️

🎭 First stop was the Abbey Centre to enjoy SpongeBob SquarePants!

🌳 Next, we had lots of fun exploring Laghey Community Sensory Garden and Playground.

🚤 Then it was off to the Irish Coast Guard Station in Killybegs, where Michelle and Phil gave us a wonderful welcome! They shared stories of the emergencies they have attended, explained the equipment they use, the training they undergo and showed us the vehicles they drive. 🚨 A huge thank you to Michelle for the lovely surprise of food and drinks for everyone too! Such a thoughtful treat! 🥰💙

🚒 Our final stop was Killybegs Fire Station, where Fergal, Paul and Aidan gave us a fantastic tour! The children loved exploring the two fire tenders, learning about the equipment firefighters use and seeing the facilities at the station. 👨‍🚒🔥

A huge thank you to everyone who gave so generously of their time to make our visits so interesting, enjoyable and memorable. We really appreciate your kindness and warm welcomes! ❤️

🌳 Famine Commemorative Walk

Our pupils joined four other schools in Glen for a special commemorative walk, bringing to a close our project exploring the Famine of the 1840s. Our artwork was displayed, pupils shared readings, and we enjoyed hot chocolate and songs together. A hawthorn tree was planted in memory of those who died. 🌿

A heartfelt thank you to Eithne Ní Ghallchobhair and Annie Quinn for allowing us to be part of this meaningful project and for bringing our school community together to remember and reflect. 💚

💙 A very special afternoon at Killaghtee N.S. 💙

We were delighted to welcome Senator Manus Boyle, Declan Lovett and Daniel Moy from Mid-West Donegal Vintage Club to our school, where they made a very special presentation to our Little Blue Hero, alongside Garda Meave, Garda Ronan and Garda Emmett. 🚓💙

The presentation followed the Vintage Club’s hugely successful “Light the Night Run”, which raised funds for a number of very worthy causes, including Little Blue Heroes. We are very grateful to the club and everyone who supported the event for their wonderful generosity.

At Killaghtee N.S., kindness, community and looking out for one another are an important part of school life, making our connection with Little Blue Heroes particularly special. 💙

Of course, no Garda visit would be complete without a little excitement — and we can report that a number of successful arrests were made during the afternoon! 🚔👮‍♀️😄 Thankfully, all suspects were released back to class shortly afterwards! 😂

A lovely occasion and one we were very proud to share. 🌟

A huge well done to our competitors who represented Killaghtee N.S. at the Cross Country in Holmes Beach on Thursday! 👏 The competition was stiff, but spirits were high, with plenty of determination, encouragement and support for one another. ❤️

A great day of connection, resilience and team spirit! ⭐🙌 A big thank you to Tír Chonaill Athletic Club for hosting such a fantastic event. 👏

¡Sí! We’re saying YES to Spanish! 🇪🇸

We are delighted to be taking part once again in the Say Yes to Languages programme this year! 🌍🗣️

A very warm welcome back to Vivian, who will be introducing our pupils to Spanish over the coming weeks. 🇪🇸 We’re looking forward to lots of fun as the children learn new words and phrases and discover more about Spanish language and culture. 💬✨

The Say Yes to Languages programme is a wonderful opportunity to encourage curiosity about languages and cultures from an early age – and we’re excited to get started!
