A very special gentleman
We were delighted and honoured to welcome Tom McCaffrey, brother of the late Eileen McCaffrey Kirk, to DSM for the Scholarship Awards.

Tom is a pianist, highly regarded for his talent and musical skill. His previous visit to DSM was in 2010, when he delighted everyone with an impromptu jazz performance on our acoustic piano in the waiting area.

Tom’s family generously donates a scholarship each year to one student, covering the full cost of a year’s tuition. We are sincerely grateful for their continued support and were delighted to have Tom with us for the occasion.

Our students representing Co. Louth

A cross-border youth arts project proudly supported by the Shared Island Civic Society Fund.

There was a wonderful sense of excitement early this morning as our students (some were on the bus when the photo was taken 😃) set off by luxury coach to Rostrevor for a weekend of Ceoldráma. This lucky group is beginning an inspiring cross-border creative journey, full of music, drama, collaboration, and shared learning.

The adventure continues at the end of September, when the students will travel to Donegal for another action-packed weekend, followed by a further gathering in Monaghan in October. These enriching weekends will culminate in three celebratory concerts, showcasing the talent, dedication, and creativity developed throughout the project.
