Dr Alison Lennon Study Skills Workshop Dundalk Second Level Students Learn How to Study! The Study Skills workshop will commence on Saturday 15th October in The Language Place, Francis Street, Dundalk.

There will 3 sessions: 10-11 am (1st/2nd years), 11-12am (Junior Cert) and 12-1pm (Leaving Cert). The course will run for six weeks and costs €90. The cost includes all handouts and resources. Topics covered included How to Study? (This includes finding the best method of active study for each individual student) Time Management. How to write an excellent essay/long question? Exam Techniques. Co

ping with Exam anxiety. How to focus. Study Tips for individual subjects. We will also have a number of students who have completed their junior/leaving cert, who will come and speak to students about their experiences and any advice they can offer. I have been working with 2nd and third level students for many years, helping them take control of their study and approach their major exams with confidence. Hi everyone. I know it's a tough year for Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert students after the last few year's challenges. I teach students how to make the most efficient use of every minute they study. The best study method for each subject, using a study diary, breaking down study to specific periods and having a goal for each period. Being in control of their study takes away the stress. Effective study means less study. I have worked with many students over the last decade. Before we know it, students will be back at school. Having spent so much time remote working, they need all the support they can get in their exam year. Study skills involve teaching students to use their time effectively, learning how to get the knowledge they need to be successful in the Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert into their head and keeping it there. It involves understanding the exam papers and what examiners are looking for. Using mind maps and flashcards and study diaries, the student will become confident in their own abilities. The course is six weeks long, one hour per week and costs 25 euro per session. The course involves learning a range of study methods and discovering the best way to study for each subject, how to plan your study each week, using a study diary, the best websites for revision notes. By the end of six weeks the student is in full control of their study, leaving them a lot less anxious and feeling a lot more confident. Many, many students have already benefitted from this course.
