We know what we need to do. So why don't we do it?

We set goals. We make plans. We convince ourselves that this time, things will be different.

Yet knowing what needs to change and actually making that change are two very different things.

Perhaps the answer isn't more ambitious goals, bigger commitments or trying harder.

Perhaps it's simply doing the smaller things, more consistently.

As James McLeod PCC (https://eu1.hubs.ly/H0zbjGv0), Executive Coach and Kingstown College faculty member, reminds us:

"Consistency beats intensity."

In our latest Faculty Conversations video, James explores the gap between knowing and doing, and why meaningful progress often starts with slowing down rather than speeding up.

๐Ÿ’ฌ What have you found more effective when making a change: a big initial push or small, consistent steps?

"Day one, I thought I was on the wrong course."

It turned out to be one of the most valuable lessons Kate Rooney would take from her coaching education.

After years in leadership, where having the answers was often expected, Kate encountered a completely different approach at Kingstown College.

You're not the expert.

Instead of imparting knowledge, coaching was about helping others uncover their own insights.
That shift challenged Kate to slow down, reflect and fundamentally rethink how she approached conversations.

๐ŸŽฅ In our latest Graduate Stories video, Kate shares the lesson that changed her perspective.

๐Ÿ‰ Meet the former Welsh international helping shape the future of coaching.

Introducing Dyddgu Morgan-Hywel, one of the exceptional professionals behind the learning experience at Kingstown College.

A former Wales international rugby player, Dyddgu earned 31 caps for her country, competed in two Rugby World Cups and eight Six Nations campaigns, and represented the Barbarians.
But her achievements extend far beyond the rugby pitch.

With a Masterโ€™s in Education, a background as a Principal Lecturer at Cardiff Metropolitan University, and extensive experience in executive wellbeing coaching, Dyddgu brings a remarkable combination of elite performance, academic expertise and leadership insight to our faculty.

And we're particularly excited about what comes next.

As Kingstown College continues to expand internationally, Dyddgu will play a leading role in developing our presence in Wales, with new coaching courses planned for the coming months.

Her experience, passion for education and understanding of sustainable high performance make her a fantastic addition to this next chapter.

We're delighted to have Dyddgu as part of the Kingstown College faculty.

Could the next five years be a turning point for professional coaching?

The latest research points to an expanding coaching industry. But what makes the future particularly interesting isn't just the growth in numbers.

It's how the world of work is changing.

According to the 2025 International Coaching Federation (ICF) Global Coaching Study:

๐ŸŒ The number of professional coach practitioners worldwide reached a record 122,974.

๐Ÿ“Š Global annual coaching revenue reached an estimated $5.34 billion.

๐ŸŽ“ 73% of coaches surveyed agreed that clients and organisations expect professional certification or credentials.

And there's another important trend.

The World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report 2025 identifies resilience, adaptability, leadership and social influence among the skills expected to grow in importance through 2030.

As AI and technology transform the workplace, the ability to support human development, navigate change and develop others could become increasingly valuable.

The opportunity isn't simply about producing more coaches. It's about developing highly skilled, professionally trained coaches who can respond to these changing needs.

At Kingstown College, that's the future of coaching education we're committed to supporting.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Where do you see the greatest opportunities for professional coaching over the next five years?

What if giving advice isn't as helpful as we think?

We're often conditioned to believe that helping someone means offering solutions, sharing knowledge or having the answers.

But sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do is simply ask, "What do you think?"

In the latest instalment of our Faculty Conversations series, Kingstown College faculty member Judith Spring explores one of the most transformative realisations people experience when learning to coach.

You don't need to be the expert on someone else's life. They are.

Your role is to bring curiosity, listen deeply and ask questions that help people discover their own answers.

And when that realisation clicks, something shifts. The pressure to have all the answers disappears, and the possibilities of who you can coach open up.

๐ŸŽฅ Watch Judith explain the power of asking over telling.

What if AI's biggest opportunity for coaching isn't about technology at all?

We explored what AI could mean for the future of coaching, and something interesting stood out.

It wasn't a new technology. It was what the research suggests about the human skills we'll need as the world of work evolves.

The World Economic Forum expects 39% of workers' core skills to change by 2030.

Meanwhile, Deloitte's 2026 research found that 67% of surveyed employees expect human skills to become more important within the next two years.

And it raises an interesting question: as technology becomes more capable, how much attention are we giving to developing our own capabilities?

Think about a conversation that genuinely helped you move forward.
Often, it wasn't because someone had all the answers. It was because they listened, asked a thoughtful question or helped you see things from a different perspective.

These are the kinds of capabilities at the heart of professional coaching.
At Kingstown College, we believe learning to coach offers value far beyond the coaching profession itself. It develops skills that can strengthen how we lead, communicate and support others.

As AI continues to reshape the way we work, investing in these human capabilities may be more relevant than ever.

We've brought together the research and what it could mean for the future of coaching in five short slides. ๐Ÿ‘‡

As AI continues to evolve, which human skill do you think we should be investing more in?

What does leadership look like when resilience, adaptability and decision-making are tested in very real ways?

One of the most common questions we get at Kingstown College is:

This is the starting point if you want to become a professional coach, develop a coaching style as a leader, or build strong foundations in coaching and mentoring practice. The programme introduces the principles, frameworks and skills used in professional coaching, combining learning with applied practice. It is accredited by the ICF and EMCC, and is designed to help learners build the skills and confidence to host meaningful coaching conversations.
