ENGLISH BELOW

It has been 10 years since Academia da Espada began its journey as a school specifically dedicated to the study and teaching of Verdadera Destreza (that school created in San Lúcar de Barrameda in 1569 by Jerónimo Sánchez de Carranza based on the logical and humanistic foundations of the European Renaissance) in its context and with the weapons used in the school's peak period.
It has been 10 years of study, practice and experimentation, but also of movement, travel and workshops all over the world, years of contributing to the expansion and dissemination of this marvellous martial art and this representation of the culture of the Iberian Peninsula at its moment of maximum splendour, trying to do it with the same humanist spirit of its creator.
Today, and in spite of the work that still lies ahead, I believe that we are beginning to be a great school that is spreading across a significant part of the globe thanks to the enthusiasm and work of the school's components: the instructors (future masters of arms), the monitors (future instructors) and the students who are the ones who nourish and give life to what we do.
Today we bring to light the website, renewed at last, which will serve as a worthy business card and a place of reference of our school, a presentation of our activity and where you can see those responsible for the different groups in the world that make us what we are (there are too many to mention in this short text, but they are visible on the website).
I must mention Diniz Fernández Cabreira, from Arte do Combate, the designer who has always helped us so much, the creator of our logo and who has also created the page (and who has even been able to finally organise us for it); a beautiful job, Diniz 😉 !
I leave you the link to the page hoping you like it as much as I do.
See you soon... hopefully in any historical fencing hall around the world!

Master of Arms and director of Academia da Espada.
