Business Development Manager - Marketing & Admissions

Smart Edulink is an Educational and Academic agency involved in securing third-level educational opportunities for international students. We offer information and assistance to all prospective Students looking to travel to other countries in order to secure a Third-Level education at Degree or Master level in the college or university of their choice.

We are the Academic solutions agency for all students seeking those opportunities and we assist with all enrolment and registration documentation, visa application procedures right down to airport collection and student accommodation. We are now seeking to recruit a Business Development Manager for our office in Malawi.

The post holder will report directly to the Managing Director and work as part of the companies International Team in our office in Malawi, contributing actively to recruitment, setting of targets and reporting on progress.

He/she will be responsible for a range of tasks including:
• Recruit and register of African students on courses at appropriate times throughout the academic year for colleges and universities abroad

• Oversee the general well-being of students, to include academic progress, application and admission to universities and colleges

• Assist with immigration issues, when necessary

• Maintain and update the Smart EduLink’s Student Management System

• Initiate and maintain contact with Government Agencies, Education institutions, College Representatives, Schools and institutions

• Develop partnerships with leading universities in the African market

• Assist with the planning and organisation of promotional campaigns using multiple formats, including print, digital marketing and social media techniques

• devise and collaborate on the development and implementation of marketing activities and strategies that are designed to increase recruitment of prospective African students

• Present occasionally at international fairs/conferences to include possible overseas travel

• Carry out any other duties, as assigned by the Managing Director.

Knowledge:
• Awareness of working with Educational institutions and colleges

• Be comfortable in using social media, email and other digital channels

• Have experience using variety of communications media: photography, audio, video and print

• Ability to identify and exploit commercial opportunities

• Ability to influence and communicate persuasively

• Flexibility in manner, working hours and travel

• Ability to work on own initiative

• Keen attention to detail and willing to take direction
Work Based Skills:

• Proficiency in MS Office packages and all social media packages

• Knowledge of working with databases

• Development and design of marketing and promotional material
Experience

• 2 Years+ in a commercial environment, ideally educational/international/marketing background

• Experience working in a consumer orientated service business

• Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines under pressure and to take ownership of projects

Qualifications
Relevant Bachelor’s degree or professional equivalent
