Whether you’re a researcher or practitioner, this online workshop will cover writing theory and practice articles, the journal’s 2027 theme and Style Guide, and the requirements for publication.

You’ll also have the opportunity to connect with fellow authors and members of the Editorial Board.

Investment in adult learning must remain a priority in the EU budget. 🇪🇺

As a member of the European Association for the Education of Adults - EAEA, AONTAS supports its response to the proposed EU budget for 2028–2034.

The negotiations are ongoing, and decisions made now will shape the future of adult learning across Europe.

We stand alongside EAEA in calling for adult learning to remain a priority in the EU's long-term budget.

“Adult learning is one of those important parachutes in life that helps us remember all our talents and possibilities. It reduces barriers and replaces fear with hope.”

Our Membership and Digital Engagement Officer, Brian Desmond, shared this reflection in a blog post about his experience as a guest at the National Adult Literacy Agency (NALA) Learn with NALA Awards 2026.

The ceremony celebrated the learning achievements of over 30 adult learners from across Ireland who improved their literacy, numeracy or digital literacy skills through the Learn with NALA eLearning website.

Bundesinstitut für Berufsbildung (BIBB) is hosting a dynamic Study Visit in Bonn, Germany to explore the implementation of the EU Pact for Skills.

Taking place from 25-27 November, the event will bring together representatives of the National Coordinating Points for the European Agenda for Adult Learning, ministries, partner institutions, and organisations from across Europe to:

✅ Explore national and regional approaches to skills development
✅ Learn about stakeholder cooperation and skills partnerships
✅ Discover how adult learning supports the green and digital transitions
✅ Exchange experiences and practical examples from Germany
✅ Strengthen cross-sector collaboration and skills ecosystems

This is an excellent opportunity to connect with peers, share knowledge, and gain insights into how the principles of the Pact for Skills are being put into practice within the German continuing education system.

In partnership with SOLAS, we are developing and administering an annual national learner survey to help improve learning experiences and widen opportunities for learners.

Last week, we held two webinars with more than 60 participants to share updates, outline next steps and gather feedback from our members.
