Gaelscoil for Ballyfermot - rejection, again!

Today, again, I had to fight discrimination against children in Ballyfermot and Cherry Orchard when trying to access a Gaelscoil. There's no catchment area for Cherry Orchard and for the majority of Ballyfermot.

My old school- Gaelscoil Inse Chor - has consistently reduced it's catchment area from D10 when it was these areas that they canvassed for parents and children to support the fight for the school over 40 years ago.

Now every year they send out too many rejection letters to parents to tell them all their effort were in vain.

I'm completely disheartened to see all our efforts to promote Irish within education completely regressed. We're worse then we were before we fought to open Gaelscoil Inse Chor! Back when they had class rooms on the side of the street to make their point.

It's time we were given the opportunity to have an education as gaeilge and 2021 will be the year we won't take no for an answer.
