Over 200 primary and secondary schools across Ireland have registered for the Crocus Project this year. Thank you to every teacher and student taking part.
Each autumn, pupils plant yellow crocus bulbs in memory of the 1.5 million Jewish children and the hundreds of thousands of other children who were murdered in the Holocaust, and in memory of all children who are victims of conflict worldwide. The yellow flowers recall the yellow stars that Jewish people were forced to wear under N**i rule. When the crocuses bloom in late January, around Holocaust Memorial Day, they become a living act of remembrance in schools and communities across the country.
There is still time for your school to join. Registration is free, and every participating school receives a Teacher's Handbook, in English or as Gaeilge, along with bulbs to plant.
