Oldtown National School

Recently, as part of our Active Flag, our students participated in a 4 week initiative of daily movement breaks. This was supported by the GAA and each day there was an active video for each class to follow while also learning some facts about Croke Park. We enjoyed this and have continued to use these videos!🏃‍♀️⚽️

We used our "Maths Eyes" 👀 today and put our procedural writing skills into practice too! Happy Pancake Day! 🥞😋

We had the pleasure of welcoming Dare to Believe Ambassador, Sophia Noble, to our school yesterday. Sophia, who plays badminton for Ireland, is hoping to qualify for the Olympics in 2028. She spoke to the children about the hard work and determination it takes to play at such a high level but most importantly she told them to always strive for their best and to never give up on their dreams! We wish her all the best for Summer 2028!🍀🇮🇪

We are so proud of all of our children who performed so well in last Friday's Nativity and yesterday in Dublin Airport! Thanks to all of the parents and guardians who came to support us, it really added to the amazing atmosphere! Happy Christmas! 🎄☃️🎵

There was great excitement today in St.Mary's. The DAA arrived and put on a spectacular Christmas performance for all of the children! 🎅☃️🎄

We had lots of spooky fun in St.Mary's yesterday! We started off the day with our sponsored Spooktacluar Walk, many thanks for all of your generous donations! The children had a disco at yard time and showed off their best dance moves! We finished off the day with our annual Halloween Disco, organised and hosted by our amazing Parent's Association. It was a brilliant day and night! 🎃🧙‍♀️💀🎆🥳

We have had a busy month celebrating Kindness/ Cinéaltas in St.Mary's! Ms. Baldwin and the Amber Flag committee presented the children with the flag at the beginning of the month and also presented children with certificates who were caught being kind! Today Ms. Baldwin and Ms.Carroll spoke to the children about the Bí Cinéalta initiative which is based on kindness and aims to eliminate bullying in schools. The Amber Flag committee presented their beautiful poster and logos based on the Cinéaltas theme and more children were awarded with kindness certificates! Well done to all!
