The National Association of English Language Schools in Ireland MEI is an association of over 70 regulated English Language Schools in Ireland.

🌟 Member of the Week: Atlantic Centre of Education

Atlantic Centre of Education has provided language and professional development courses in the heart of Galway since 1993. It offers a range of courses, including Erasmus+ Professional Development Course for Higher Education Staff and Teachers, Intensive English Courses, general and business, for CEFR levels A2-C1, one-to-one Tuition and tailored group programmes

Its social programme includes cultural activities that support language learning outside the classroom. Activities include a guided walking tour of Galway’s medieval streets, interactive afternoon workshops, focusing on pronunciation, idioms, and aspects of Irish culture such as music and folklore, and the Pub Social and Networking Evening, where students gather in a traditional Irish music pub to relax, connect with peers from across Europe, and experience authentic Irish hospitality.

Atlantic Centre of Education no longer provides accommodation, but the team are happy to make recommendations. They work closely with several accommodation providers, and as an Atlantic student, you can avail of discounts of up to 20% on a minimum 7-night stay. Just talk to the team to learn more.

English Education Ireland members and non-members can participate in Children First Child Protection training days delivered by Barnardos.

There are two levels of training: Level 1 for all staff dealing with minors and Level 2, which is required for Designated Liaison Person (DLP).

You must complete the Level 1 course before participating in the Level 2 DLP training. Persons who do not intend to progress to Level 2 DLP training with Barnardos could opt for the free training programme through TUSLA.

Places are limited. Fees apply.

Level 1: 11th September 2025
Level 2 (DLP) : 12th February 2026

The course will take place via Zoom. Class Times 10am-5pm

🌟 Member of the Week: Citas College Dublin

Citas College is centrally located in Dublin 1, just minutes from Connolly Station and a short walk from sights like O'Connell Street, Mary Street, and Temple Bar. Founded in 1996, Citas specialises in adult English education. They offer General English courses taught by qualified teachers.

Citas enhances classroom learning with authentic, real-world experiences. Students take part in monthly trips and project-based outings to galleries and cultural sites, helping them practise English and explore Irish culture.
