The Pakistani Irish Academicians and Researchers Association (PIARA) held its inaugural webinar, marking a significant milestone in fostering collaboration between the Pakistani and Irish academic communities.
Her Excellency Aisha Farooqui, the Ambassador of Pakistan to Ireland, graced the event as the Guest of Honour. In her address, Ambassador Farooqui warmly welcomed the members of PIARA and underscored the critical importance of research and development (R&D), innovation, and STEM studies in driving economic progress and global competitiveness. She commended the initiative for uniting Pakistani academics and researchers residing in Ireland under a shared mission of knowledge exchange and innovation.
Highlighting the importance of research, development, innovation, and STEM education (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), Ambassador Farooqui stressed their critical roles in driving economic progress and sustainable growth. She encouraged PIARA members to actively contribute to cross-border R&D collaborations and to create impactful solutions that benefit both Ireland and Pakistan.
The webinar marked the official launch of PIARA, a professional community dedicated to connecting Pakistani researchers and academics residing in Ireland. The webinar provided a platform for participants to share ideas, discuss opportunities for joint projects, and explore ways to strengthen ties between Pakistani and Irish institutions. It was an inspiring start to PIARA’s journey, underscoring its commitment to fostering academic and professional growth within a global context.
