This week we had lots of fun exploring Colours.
Learning about colours helps children develop creativity, visual awareness, communication skills, and early art knowledge. Exploring colours also encourages self-expression, supports language development, and helps children recognise and describe the world around them through hands-on and play-based learning experiences. During the week we did various fun and age appropriate activities such as:
colour sorting and matching games, colour mixing activities, painting and rainbow art, play-dough colour exploration, colour flash cards, story time and sing-along action songs, sorting toys and objects by colour, building colour patterns with blocks or beads and group mural and rainbow craft activities which we all enjoyed.๐

Literacy week
Early literacy and letter learning are vital for childrenโs overall development. They provide the foundation for reading, writing, communication, and lifelong learning. This week we did lots of fun activities to enforce letters learning such as: alphabet song, tracing letters, flash cards and magnetic letters, "I spy with my little eyeโ, letter matching games (A matches with apple), alphabet hunt game, painting and letter beads.
We have been impressed with the interest and excitement children had learning the letters this week. Some children have shown great skills and knowledge of early reading which absolutely amazed us.โคโคโค

Numeracy week
Based on childrenโs interest we decided that this week we would focus on Numbers.
Children have engaged in age appropriate and creative activities that make learning numeracy easy and fun to grasp such as: reading books, memory games, bingo, counting, songs and art.
Numeracy in early education is much more than learning to countโitโs about helping children understand numbers, patterns, and how things work in everyday life. These early experiences build the foundation for later success in maths and problem-solving.

This week we learned about all sorts of insects. We explored insects that live on and under the ground and learned new words. We looked in our garden with our binoculars and had conversations about the different insects we have seen, read stories, painted and enjoyed the good weather outdoors.

This week, the preschool children began by celebrating St. Patrickโs Day on Monday. We then organised a variety of free-choice activities, allowing the children to use their imagination through painting and building. They also made the most of the good weather by enjoying outdoor play.
Following our fire drill, the children showed a strong interest in firefighters and fire engines. Building on this interest, we planned a range of themed activities. We read books together and had discussions about the role of firefighters and the important work they do, as well as learning more about fire engines.
