Join the Faculty of Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland for a hands-on course in Paediatric Dentistry for General Practitioners on Thursday 1st October 2026.

This course is scheduled as a pre-conference event ahead of the Faculty’s Annual Scientific Meeting, taking place on 2–3 October 2026.

“Three Essential Skills in Paediatric Dentistry” will provide evidence-based practical guidance on three fundamental techniques for successful restorative care in children: rubber dam use, pulpotomy, and stainless steel crown placement.

Join us at RCSI on 26 September 2026 for a practical, specialist-led oral surgery masterclass featuring hands-on training and expert-led learning.

The interactive practical sessions will include hands-on tuition and exposure to the surgical extractions, suturing and bleeding management, a medical emergency update, clinical pathology case-based discussions alongside an anatomy and radiology update.

Participants will enjoy an excellent participant-to-faculty ratio, ensuring personalised guidance throughout.

🎓 Congratulations to the more than 600 Fellows, Members and Diplomates of the Faculty of Dentistry who were conferred at RCSI this week.

From the Diploma in Primary Care Dentistry (DPCD) to Membership (MFD and MGDS) and Fellowship (FFD), each conferral represents dedication, achievement and a commitment to excellence in patient care and professional development.

We also congratulate Dr Dáire Shanahan, recipient of the Fellowship of the Faculty of Dentistry (Ad Eundem), and Dr Noel Henderson, recipient of the Fellowship in General Dental Surgery (Ad Eundem).

Congratulations to Dr Manal Al Taha, Dr Bushra Al Majid, Dr Elaf Mamoun and Dr Reem Elanani, who were awarded the Fellowship of the Faculty of Dentistry in Paediatric Dentistry at RCSI on 6 July 2026, recognising the successful completion of their specialist training and examination. Dr Reem was conferred in absentia.

The four Fellows completed the three-year Paediatric Dentistry Residency Programme delivered through the long-standing collaboration between the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and Hamad Medical Corporation, Doha, Qatar. Established in 2017, the programme was designed in Dublin and is based on international standards for specialist training in paediatric dentistry. Through this partnership, RCSI and HMC continue to support advanced specialist dental education and the development of highly skilled paediatric dentistry professionals.

We commend the graduates on this significant achievement and wish them every success in their future careers.
