The Ombudsman for Children’s Office (OCO) is an independent office that seeks to promote and protect children's rights in Ireland & investigate complaints about child services provided by public bodies. The Ombudsman for Children has two main roles:
1 To look into complaints made by or on behalf of children and young people about the actions of public organisations.
2 Promote the rights and welfare of children and young people under 18 years old living in Ireland.

Our Office is closed from Wednesday 24th December 2025 and re-opens on Friday 2nd of January 2026.
