Dean's Gift Day

For generations, the Minot Tower Clock at Saint Patrick's Cathedral has marked the passing hours for Dubliners through times of joy and sorrow, peace and conflict. Yet few people ever see the remarkable mechanism hidden within the tower that keeps this historic clock running.

This year, the Dean's Gift Day Appeal will help fund essential conservation and repair works to the clock mechanism and two of its historic clock faces, ensuring this important part of Dublin's heritage continues to serve the city for generations to come.
Just as a single penny hidden within the mechanism helps keep the clock accurate, every gift, large or small, can make a real difference.

‘Suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind… and all of them were filled with the Holy Spirit.’ (Acts 2)

Today the Church celebrates Pentecost — or Whitsun — the great feast of the Holy Spirit and the birthday of the Church. This striking image captures the moment when the Spirit descended upon the apostles, transforming fear into courage and sending them out to proclaim the Gospel to the world.

We continue that ancient rhythm of prayer and praise today, joining Christians across the world in giving thanks for the Spirit’s guidance and renewal.

You are warmly invited to worship with us this Pentecost at 11:15 or 15:15. Tune into our live stream: https://www.stpatrickscathedral.ie/worship/livestream/
