We are delighted to share some of our members' Work in Progress. These pieces were created within the Pointed Pen Uncial and the Half Uncial Hand Workshop, and were inspired by a W.B. Yeats poem. You can view the finished artworks, which will be displayed at our Mini Festival coming this August.😃

Last Sunday some of our Peannairí members took part in our summer outing to the Oratory of the Sacred Heart in Dun Laoghaire.

This hidden gem is a true artistic treasure, and we were thrilled to explore together the Celtic revival artwork of Sister Concepta Lynch, who was a member of the Dominican Order and a skilled calligrapher and illuminator.

The Oratory's walls and ceilings are adorned with stunning designs and motifs, and we marvelled at the beautiful stained glass windows that added a touch of magic to the atmosphere.

We were lucky to visit during the local council heritage season, and we look forward to our next Peannairí members’ outing together.

Thanks to member Rita King, for looking up the following information which might be of interest to those who couldn’t make it on the day.

The Book: Divine Illumination The Oratory of the Sacred Heart Dun Laoghaire
This paperback book is available online from New Island Book.
Price: €19.95 plus delivery charge €5.90 less discount €3.99 = total €21.86

Secondhand books: I spotted a copy in Kennys online and hope to receive it shortly. They don’t have another copy in stock just now, but it may be possible to pick up a copy in charity shops etc.

Library: The book is available in libraries. I have the Dundrum Library copy out on loan at the moment but will be returning it once I get my copy from Kennys. I spotted a copy in Stillorgan Library the other day so it may be in all libraries or could be ordered.

Divine Illumination Oratory Exhibition pdf. This is a free pdf about the Oratory which has a lot of information in it. Very much like the book and possibly better as you can zoom in for more detail.
