Feet First Friday - 9th January 🚴♀️
Tomorrow is Feet First Friday! 🌟 On the first Friday of each month, we encourage our kids to get active and walk, scoot, or cycle to school. Don't forget to label your scooter or bike so it doesn't get lost in our fabulous scooter/bike park! 🚲💨
And to make it even more exciting, it's also our €1 non-uniform day, which helps raise funds for the school. The money raised will go towards purchasing additional resources for our kids at the end of each term. Let's get active and support a great cause! 💪
A safety reminder: please ensure your child wears a helmet when scooting or cycling to school. Let's keep our kids safe! 🌟

We hope all the children enjoyed their PJ Day in school today and are excited for the Toy Show tonight.
We are delighted to announce that during the evening Christmas concerts next week, the PA will be running a raffle with some fantastic prizes up for grabs.
One of the highlights is a beautiful gift box from www.snugzhq.com, a fabulous local company run by two amazing parents from our school community. We were so excited to spot Jimbow the Giraffe beside the Grinch teddy at the start of the Late Late Toy Show video today!
Thank you, as always, for your support. We look forward to seeing you all at the concerts next week!

P**p Patrol to the Rescue!
Mayor O’Leary and Councillor Hopkins joined forces with the creative crusaders of St. Sylvester’s Infant School in Malahide, current and past pupils alike, to unveil a colourful campaign against dog fouling.
These young artists created eye-catching signs to remind everyone: pick up the p**p! Their mission is to make the walk or scoot to school a p**p-free paradise. Because let’s face it, dodging doggy doo isn’t the kind of obstacle course anyone signed up for.
To help the cause, free dog p**p bags and dispensers were handed out at the school this morning, and the freshly printed signs are now proudly displayed around the area. So, if you’re out walking your furry friend remember to take a bag and bin the poo.
Well done to the students for turning a messy problem into a masterpiece of community action.

School Secretaries and Caretakers Strike Action
On Thursday, 28th August, school secretaries and caretakers across the country began indefinite strike action, organised by the Fórsa trade union. The campaign seeks equal treatment and pension inclusion for over 2,600 school staff.
Today, teachers and staff from St. Sylvester’s Infant School stood outside the school during their lunch break to show solidarity with our school secretary and caretaker.
Schools cannot operate safely and effectively without these essential staff, yet ancillary staff continue to be denied fair pensions and basic entitlements.
We hope this dispute is resolved quickly so that our school community can return to normal operations.
If you would like to show your support, Fórsa has created an online pledge which you can sign here: https://act.forsa.ie/pensionparityschools.
