Exciting things happening for as the work of the last year starts to show.

Taking it day by day here.

We won’t tell you it’s on. But there will be signs.

Little top up doing it’s thing today for our as we sit inside of two weeks out.

We were within pi***ng distance (literally) of the cap this morning. But no need to stay there. Fully confident in the control we have right now.

We’ll emulate this into next Friday’s weigh in. Giving us two glorious days to chow down and feet up prior to stage.

To quote the youngins; game on.

Just like that it’s the final week of off-season for our boy . The closing weeks of this phase have been spent trying to maximise every available return we can. We took the last few weeks as they came, with the intention of transitioning into prep at the most opportune moment in the not so distant future.

An obvious and accumulating fatigue that will eventually necessitate a deload has provided the moment. Tying our start point with a specific period of absolute recovery in the week prior. A pre-prep (don’t get too hung up on terms like this, we’re talking about a more refined, prep-specific deload).

We’ll start prep fully recovered and ready. We’re in no major rush here. No plan to over-reach or overshoot. Liam turned pro on a clean sweep at 21 as a junior; the extended off-season since has been spent earning the right to debut, not just turn up as a spare. The pro league has no place for spares.

There’s been a focus on improving balance, upper to lower, and of course, driving the needed muscularity to compete in the big leagues. Liam has earned every right to transition into what will be the biggest prep of his life so far.

Game on, dog.

There’s a funny thing about this sport. And in any case it’s not likely reserved to bodybuilding. In any pursuit I’m sure it’s the same.

We spend years on the ‘how’. The plans, the preps, the peaks. I’ve spent the guts of my career trying to figure out how to do this and how to be eventually be the best at it.

Then, one show-weekend reminds you that it’s not really about the ‘how’. It’s about the ‘who’.

You can do everything right and still come up short. You can do everything arseways and still take it home. The one thing that’s really in your control is who you choose to do it with.

You’ve got to be as open to losing with your team as you are to winning with your team. This weekend, we won.
