Congratulations to Christelle Al Hasrouty who passed her PhD viva yesterday in France! Her thesis is entitled "Adaptive Multicast Live Streaming for A/V Conferencing Systems over Software-Defined Networks". This is a joint PhD between Université de Bordeaux and UCD and was supervised by Prof. Damien Magoni at Bordeaux. The examiners were Prof. Congduc Pham Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour and Dr Ramona Trestian Middlesex University London. Christelle joins the ranks of the now 60 PhD graduated from PEL!!

Last week, Dr. Omar Portillo presented the paper entitled "Analysis of Machine Learning Techniques for Anomaly Detection in the Internet of Things" at the 2018 IEEE Latin American Conference on Computational Intelligence (LA-CCI). Paper co-authored with Shane Brady, Damien Magoni, John Murphy, and Haytham Assem.

Congratulations to Bartlomiej Siniarski who passed his PhD viva today! His thesis "Application defined QoE-driven monitoring for real-time, business critical applications in multi-vendor Software Defined Networks" was accepted by the examiners with minor corrections. The External Examiner was Prof. Toufik Ahmed from Université Bordeaux and the Internal Examiner was Dr. Gavin McArdle.
