2015 will mark the 50th Anniversary of YOUNG CASSIDY , Ford's final work which was taken over by Jack Cardiff not long after filming commenced, but the heart of both men can be seen throughout.. its based on the Irish playwright Sean O' Casey.
Ford is cited as describing Rod Taylor's performance as follows: "Your performance could have gotten tears from a rock."

Screen leading lady & Ford favourite Maureen O'Hara tonight receives an Honorary Oscar Award from The Academy at the annual Governers Ball in LA, this fitting tribute is richly deserved for the incredible screen legend and extraordinary Irish women who enjoyed an artistic collaboration with Ford that spanned over twenty years and includes some of his most-loved films including The Quiet Man, How Green Was My Valley and Rio Grande.
The ceremony comes almost a decade to the day after O'Hara was honoured in her beloved home country of Ireland by Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004.
