As a Peer Mentor, you’ll play a key role in welcoming new students, helping them settle in, make connections, and feel part of the UCD community. Congratulations Orla Guerin, Senior International Correspondent at BBC News, who was awarded an Honorary Doctorate for her outstanding contribution to Irish and international news media and for being such a trail-blazing figure for women in television.

As a graduate of (MA Film, 1999) we were honoured to welcome Orla back to Belfield to celebrate her outstanding achievements.

At the conferring Professor Diane Negra, , cited Orla’s "intrepid and tenacious journalism, her dogged work in delivering crucial information in complex evolving geopolitical landscapes and her fierce determination to expanding what we see and know of those circumstances".
