We are over the moon about our newest arrival 🌒 ‘Museum of the Moon,’ a spectacular illuminated installation by artist Luke Jerram is now on display in the Long Room of the Old Library. The six-meter-wide sculpture features highly detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface. Every centimetre represents five kilometres of the Moon’s surface. For centuries, the Moon has inspired artists, scientists, writers and explorers, and shaped how we understand the world and our place within it. Discover why the Long Room is a fitting home for the artwork via the link in our bio.

Published 300 years ago and never out of print, it has been studied, adapted, retold, and illustrated in countless ways, in many languages, both for adults and children. A new exhibition in The Long Room reveals how Lemuel Gulliver’s voyages to the lands of Lilliput, Brobdingnag, Laputa, and the Houyhnhnms have fascinated readers for 300 years. Gulliver at 300 will be on display until December 2026. Tickets available in bio.
