(beginners or experienced) who are genuinely interested, enthusiastic
and prepared to give
it their all. Participants must be over 17 with
no upper age limit and over 50s are especially welcome. If you've ever been interested in getting acting work in television
dramas, commercials and feature films and didn't know how to go about it, now is your chance to train for this kind of work by correctly learning to slate to camera, hit your marks, match continuity between shots, cold-read for films, audition for commercials, be your own agent, use engaging 10 x 8 headshots, network with castings directors, compile a showreel, get called to auditions and land the part when you get there. The Film Actors Workshop is led by Shane Munro, film producer
and actors agent who is better known for his roles in many television
ads including AIB, Yorkie, Peugeot, Braun, Supervalu, Vodafone,
Ulster Bank, Bulmers etc. but who was also executive producer on
the award winning film To Catch A Crow, Best Film at the BBC International
Film Festival in London and also screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Course director Shane says "the course will give you a practical insight into the pressures faced by screen actors and help you gain a firm grasp of the skills required to book work from auditions by taking you through the processes in-front-of the camera. We're here to show you how challenging and rewarding acting on camera really is and to shed light on the many common myths associated with the entertainment industry; "you need an agent", "you need an equity card", "you need to train for years" and all sorts of nonsense" he said. "It's a huge opportunity for anyone who has a real desire to act on camera and wants to learn how to go about it in the correct manner "
This course has won high praise from the top Casting Directors in the
business and is regarded as being the fastest route to getting acting
work in film and television without having to spend years training in drama college. While the course is intensive, it aims to develop the skills
