Instituto Cervantes in Dublin (https://dublin.cervantes.es) is located in the heart of Ireland’s capital city. It is conveniently situated between Trinity College and the National Gallery. Studying Spanish in our institute not only means learning the language but enjoying the opportunity of getting to know and discovering the different cultures within the Hispanic world through our cultural activi

ties.Our library offers a wide selection of Spanish and Latin American literature, as well as movies and music from the Spanish-speaking world.Our new facilities include offices, 16 classrooms, a library, a conference room, and an exhibition room.

Our Flamenco for Children (ages 6–12) workshop introduces children to the colourful and expressive world of flamenco through Sevillanas and Guajira con Abanico.

🎶 They’ll explore:

✨ Basic flamenco steps and rhythms

💃 Sevillanas and guajira choreography

🌸 The use of the traditional flamenco fan

🎵 Rhythm and movement games

🌟 Coordination, confidence and self-expression

No previous experience is required — just enthusiasm, curiosity and a willingness to have fun!

🎬🇪🇸 Celebramos el Día del Cine Español con un clásico del cine documental.

El próximo 6 de octubre proyectamos El desencanto (1976), de Jaime Chávarri, un documental de culto que este año cumple 50 años.

La película se adentra en la historia de la familia del poeta Leopoldo Panero, reconstruida a través de los testimonios de sus propios familiares catorce años después de su muerte, en un retrato íntimo y complejo de la memoria, la familia y la sociedad de la época.

🎭✨ Step onto the stage with the Cervantes Dublin Theatre Club!

This term, we’ll be working on Man Up, a play by playwright Andrea Jiménez that challenges traditional ideas of masculinity through irony, irreverence and absurd humour.

Through character work, voice, movement and performance, participants will explore the play’s themes while developing their stage presence, confidence and expressive skills.

🎭 A creative and collaborative space to:

✨ Explore a contemporary theatre text

🎙️ Develop voice and movement

🎬 Build confidence on stage

🤝 Work as part of a creative team

💭 Question ideas about identity and self-expression

The workshop is directed by Sandra Villegas, director of the Cervantes Dublin Theatre Club since 2015.

Soleá con Mantón

Explore one of the most profound forms of flamenco through a choreography based on soleá, incorporating the beauty and movement of the flamenco shawl.

Both courses combine technique, musicality and expressive movement, with a special focus on healthy movement, posture and body awareness.

🎨🇪🇸 El arte urbano español dejó huella en Waterford.

Así vivimos la participación de Dan Ferrer como artista invitado del Instituto Cervantes Dublín en Waterford Walls Festival 2026.

Durante estos días, Dan transformó uno de los espacios de Waterford con un mural inspirado en su particular lenguaje visual, donde el color, la emoción y la cultura urbana se encuentran.

Ha sido un placer formar parte de uno de los grandes encuentros internacionales de arte urbano de Irlanda y acercar el talento y la creación contemporánea española a nuevos públicos.

Gracias a Waterford Walls Festival, a Dan Ferrer y a todas las personas que se acercaron a descubrir su trabajo y el proceso de creación del mural. 🎨✨
