A proud achievement for some of our recent CUS graduates, who helped Clontarf Rugby U20s to a fantastic win in their opening match of the season!

Rugby is an important part of our wider educational approach at CUS. For many students, training takes place two to three times a week, serving as the final lesson of the day and providing an opportunity to develop not only as players, but as members of our school community in a balanced environment where all are welcome.

As we begin another season of rugby at CUS, our Director of Rugby, Brian Blaney, shares his vision for the programme and what he hopes to achieve with our players both on and off the pitch.

Congratulations to TY student Tom Drury who was recently selected for the Cinemagic Cross Border Film Academy.

The programme combines industry masterclasses, script development workshops and pre-production sessions before culminating in the production of a professionally mentored short film.

The CUS Annual Golf Outing brought past pupils together at Milltown Golf Club last Thursday for a fantastic day of golf, good company and plenty of CUS spirit.

And this year, the CUS Union Challenge Cup has a new name on it -congratulations to incoming CUS Past Pupils Union President Ken O’Farrell, who took home the overall prize!

Congratulations also to Andrew Neary, winner of the Hogan Cup for the best score in the over 18 handicap.

From 2027, the CUS Past Pupils Union is opening up this longstanding tradition to current CUS pupils and their parents, who will be invited to take part as guests and join past pupils for dinner afterwards in the clubhouse.

The CUS community is remembering Zach Chard-Ryan, Class of 2020, who sadly passed away far too young at just 24 years of age.

Zach was a much-loved member of the CUS community. He was an exceptional young man who achieved so much in his short life, with an incredible ability to connect with others and a genuine desire to help those who needed it most.

On Saturday, 29th August, Zach’s family, friends, former schoolmates and rugby community will come together at Clontarf Rugby Club for a special Tag Rugby 7s tournament in his honour.

The day will celebrate Zach’s life while raising funds for a cause that meant so much to him, The Dublin Simon Community.

We would encourage our CUS community to support this wonderful initiative in whatever way you can, whether by attending or making a donation.

Congratulations to CUS past pupil Billy Alexander on his fantastic achievement at this year’s Bord Bia Bloom Festival in Dublin.

Billy, of Kells Bay House and Gardens, was awarded a Gold medal on the opening day of the festival in Phoenix Park. This prestigious recognition is a testament to Billy’s passion, creativity, and dedication to horticulture and garden design.
