The chart shows Grades and CAO points associated with actual marks obtained in any subject. There is a bonus point of 25 for Higher Level Maths only. A student who scores at least 40% in the exam qualifies for it. Thus the highest point any student can achieve in the Leaving Cert is 625 (= 6 x 100 + 25). A student can sit for any number of subjects (from the published list of the Department of Education) but the best six will be counted. Irish (exemption for those not started primary school here), English and Maths are compulsory in this country.

For the next couple of days I am going to share some suggestions on Higher Level Maths for the Leaving Cert candidates. You may like this page to get future notifications.
