Darkness into Light is taking place on Saturday 9th May 2026 at 4.15a.m. This is a 5km walk taking place at sunrise to fundraise for Pieta’s life saving services. You can register to volunteer at the event, or sign up for the event through the link in our bio 👏

Come by the U tomorrow at lunch time to chat with St. Michael’s House at the last Volunteer Helpdesk of the semester! Learn how you can get involved in volunteering at St. Michael’s House, which is less than a 10 minute walk away from Glasnevin Campus! 👏

On Tuesday 3 students were awarded as Volunteers of the Year at the DCU Student Impact Awards 2026. These students are Caríosa Sweeney, Niamh Dolan, and Sarah Gavin.

The Volunteers of the Year awarded celebrates and rewards those students who have gone above and beyond to better society and help those in need.

Volunteering can be done in many ways; by being an active committee member of a club or society on campus, helping a charitable organisation, or simply supporting a local community group.

The winners of this award demonstrated great selflessness and compassion, giving up their time to be a better neighbour and a helpful friend.
This award celebrates DCU’s volunteers and all of their efforts over the past year.
