The celebrations begin!! 10 years ago, our founder had a dream that young people from all across Dublin and the surrounding areas would come together to access choral music education comparable with the best programmes across the world. This concert features over 200 singers from Dublin, Kildare, Wicklow, Meath and Belfast, a professional orchestra and BREATHTAKING repertoire! Over the next 18 months, you’ll see DYC growing bigger than ever before with projects and concerts that we have always dreamed of! You’ll hear stories from singers who have grown in unimaginable ways through their time in DYC and who have gone on to develop their craft and serve their communities. You’ll meet the people working in the background, giving their time and energy to make all of this possible. You’ll be part of our mission to engage more young people in choral singing, to support emerging and established composers on the island, and to elevate youth choral music education in Ireland so that young Irish choral singers can take their place on a national and an international stage. We are so excited for and we hope you’ll join us!

NEW in 2025: DYC Minis

We are delighted to launch our new in-person early years programme. In addition to our free online Pre-DYC programme, we are now offering an in-person class/choir for singers entering FIRST CLASS, beginning this September. The classes help the young musicians to develop fundamental musical concepts through games and activities, while also giving them an opportunity to sing as a choir. Participants will learn a repertoire of songs and rhymes and will receive resources to continue learning throughout the week.

The class/choir will be capped at 12 participants and places will be offered on a first come first served basis. There is no audition. Participants will receive a world-class early years music education for a fraction of the cost of most similar programmes.

Sing Ireland

One of DYC’s most exciting contributions to early years music education is our unique Pre-DYC programme! It is completely free and online! Offered in 20-min sessions, these short classes help young musicians and their families to develop fundamental musical concepts through games, songs and rhymes. Participants take part in an in-person concert in December after their online graduation! We hope to have lots of young people joining in this year. Classes begin on 25th September. We’re delighted to share that for this year we have removed our suitability check to join Dublin Youth Junior Choir Year One. We hope that this will encourage even more young people from all across Dublin to be involved in this incredible choir. We are committed to exploring barriers to participation and experimenting with what we do in order to serve as many young people as we can.

If you know a young person entering second or third class (primary school) in September 2025, please encourage them to become part of this unique choral music education programme. There is no experience required - just a love of singing and a strong commitment. Places will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis and places are limited.
